We recently had Christmas Day lunch at this pub. What a disappointment. The barn to the side of the pub is used for this function. It was freezing cold - we ended up eating in our overcoats. The staff (of which there were many) did not seem to know what they were doing. The meal was terrible. The turkey overcooked. We had to queue at a carvery to be served. The vegetables arrived at the table before we joined the carvery queue - therefore stone cold. One of our party has a nut allergy - none of the staff seemed to know which of the desserts was nut free (and kept changing their minds). In the end she had cheese and biscuits!.
Never going back.

Just re-opened under new operator Tom Snook. The pub has been re-decorated and the pool table has gone. We received a very warm welcome in this clean pub offering 4 real ales, a variety of lagers and sensible wine list. The food menu looks good and is reasonably priced.

Visited this pub at lunchtime on Tuesday. Our party of four people were all impressed by the interesting and varies menu. We were equally impressed by the food when it was delivered by a charming and helpfull waitress. I had half a braised pheasant which was tasty and cooked to perfection. The vegetables served with the pheasant were well cooked, varied and tasty. My other guests had smoked salmon and sea bass all declared their meals well above average.
I have read other reviews and feel I was at a different place. My Wife and myself have visited the pub separately several times over the last year and have always been well looked after by the charming staff and always enjoyed the food, beer and wine.
