Harveys Wine Bar, Paddington

If a great value, decent proportioned, and decent tasting meal with perhaps a glass of wine or beer is what you are after, then this is definitely the place to go in Paddington.

The proprietor is very welcoming, and when he saw that I didn't like the taste of one beer, he immediately exchanged it for another brand, and refused to charge us.

I went there on a first date, and was not disappointed. I had lamb chops with vegetables to start, which came perfectly cooked to my requirements of tender but well done.

My date had that good old-fashioned British favourite of fish 'n' chips- they became my favourite as I ended up eating most of it myself! I had to compensate by ordering a bottle of champagne, and when I explained that this was our first date, the waiter laughed for eating half of my dates food, and said the champagne was on the house-definitely one of the last true romantics!

This place has everything- great food, great ambience, great service. Definitely one for true foodies!
