The Kings Head, Holmbury St Mary
Always visit this delightful pub when walking the dog in the Surrey Hills. Its a proper little English Country Pub with a dog and a fire. The helpful bar owner is always welcoming and having eaten there once I would certainly do it again. It is dog and walker friendly. Well worth a visit.

This is the second time I've been on a Sunday to this pub. Its service is so poor that I can't believe they actually charge money to eat here. The staff are ignorant rude and unhelpful, there does not appear to be any management. If you do get served at all the waiting time for food is over an hour. There was only one beer still available and while waiting a set of three meals remained on the bar waiting to be served for over 15 mins I pity the poor customers who eventually got this meal. I won't make the same mistake in venturing to this so called trendy gastro pub ever again. I guess they won't care as there are always enough mugs that will pop in thinking they will get a good service. It should have stayed as the O'Neils as it did exactly what it was supposed too.

Bugle Returns, Shepperton
I remember when this was the Tickled Trout and you had to book well in advance to get a table. Then with the SA manager the food was first class and the service and wine list excellent. After he left it went downhill overnight and now has returned as the Bugle again. I popped in for a quick beer, lets say it was a quick one as it had returned to it less than delightful former 'glory'. Pity as the area could do with a good pub.
