Wheatsheaf Hotel, Baslow
We visited the Wheatsheaf last week. Walked into the bar, stood at the bar waiting to be served and were completely ignored. There was a barman stood straight opposite me pulling drinks for an order. He looked up, looked at me, then just carried on with what he was doing.
I have been here before, and I agree - they only want to know if you are eating.
We were going to eat, but after this I turned round and walked straight out of the door into the Devonshire Arms opposite - what a contrast!! We were acknowledged as we walked through the door. Polite, friendly staff. Not overpowering. I WILL NEVER GO INTO THE WHEATSHEAF AGAIN!
Ps - they dont like walkers either.
