The Rycroft Arms, Cheadle Hulme
Under new Tennants! The Ryecroft Arms has changed immeasureably over the last 3 months with new landlords taking over the site. Real Ales from Hydes + up to two guest ales are prominent, along with a proper beer and spirit range and a new cooked from Fresh Menu.
The pub now concentrates is business around, Real Ale, Live Music and Food. All the spirits are recognised brands.
It is no longer a football pub. It is now a family friendly local pub that serves it's community with good honest value, proffesionalism, quality service and offering, and providing a safe environment for you to enjoy yourself in.

Governor's House, Cheadle Hulme
What a pathetic excuse for a pub! It's a managed house, so you would imagine that they adopt principles like "Perfect Serve" and "Line Cleaning". I went in around 8:30pm, having just had a nice pint over the road at the Church Inn. I ordered a pint of Thwaites Wainwright. this was served in an Abbott Ale Glass and served in 8 continuos pulls on the hand pump, loads of waste and no settling time. I went to my table, had a sniff of the beer, and all i could smell was egg! You can imagine the taste wasn't much better. On my previous visit I had had a bad pint of Old Speckled Hen, so the writing should have been on the wall, but you always give them a second chance, maybe it was a one off. In the case of this pub, clearly it's not a one off. I immediately called a cab to go to The Ryecroft Arms, which may not be as busy or as trendy, but at least they look after their ales, and you don't need a second mortgage for a pint!
Wouldn't reccomend the Governors to my worst enemy. Shocking beer, shoking prices, shocking pub. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
