After moving into the area the feedback we had received was that Barton was a great place to bring up a young family and everywhere was really child friendly and warm and welcoming..........This is not the case with the Royal Oak. On entering the building by a side door there is a massive hand written poster saying Prams and puschchairs are NOT ALLOWED IN !!!! I could not beleive that a local pub could turn away family business when apparentley the previose owners loved welcoming children and it was always a family place to go at the weekend........... Stay away from this place and visit the Waggon & Horses instead who welcome children and prams and buggies and even have a kids menu, which is what is expected in these times !!!!

The Waggon and Horses, Barton Le Clay
what a friendly family place this pub is........After moving into the area we were told that all the pubs are really welcoming of children and Barton le Clay is a child friendly place to bring up your kids. The Waggon is a great place to bring the kids at the weekend, including a kids menu and what a great family atmosphere...The landlord Reg has created a family run business and seems to be the busiest pub in Barton ...... As discussed with the Mums in the playground it really is a nice place to take all the family and enjoy a drink and something to eat where nthe kids are welcome. Please be aware the only pub which is not child friendly and dont allow prams or pushchairs is the Royal Oak,,,,,,STAY AWAY AS THEY DONT WELCOME CHILDREN !!!!!!!!!!!!
