The Yew Tree, Arlington

I have visited the Yew Tree a couple of times and have no idea why anyone should think it may be a gastro pub. It is a typical British pub that serves good beer and food, which, in the main, is of the plainer variety. That is what the British pub was all about, the very thought of public houses being gastro is to me ridiculous. If I want upmarket dining then a go to a fine dining restaurant not my local.
As said the beer and food are good, not sensational, but represents very good value for money. On that basis I would recommend it to anyone. If I have a complaint (observation really) it is that the portions are too large, but that is simply my opinion.
