The Morpeth Arms, Pimlico

Went in here on Saturday afternoon after visiting the Tate - around 3pm. Initial feel of the pub is very nice - good solid tables not too close together. We ordered two sandwiches, a pint of Bombardier and a pint of Peroni which came to 20.05 - this seems expensive. The two pints were less than full in the accepted British pub tradition and we were not given any cutlery or napkins to eat the food with.

Not an entirely happy experience but a nice pub in which to while away the hours.

Went to this pub for the first time today. In Essex there is a funny thing when you go into a pub for the first time - you either feel comfortable or you don't. It's becoming the norm that you don't, but today, on a Saturday afternnon, I think I've found one of my perfect pubs.. This is a lovely pub,. It's got everything - little front bar with a fire (no kids) , long restaurant area (kids are ok) clean toilets. Bar staff were young, a little bit uninterested, but very polite.

I couldn't leave without telling this story - guy comes in with a dog, clearly been out for a walk. Orders a pint for himself and the barman says "do you want a bowl for the dog"? Dog gets a bowl of water (without ice, at owner's request) . It's THAT kind of pub. Lovely
