The Chequers, Laddingford

Went here for Sunday lunch. The food and service were very good and there was a really good atmosphere - obviously a locals pub but one in which others were made to feel really welcome. The real fire was a lovely touch and the beams and old china are really pretty.

The Portsmouth Arms, Basingstoke

Really enjoy this pub. The steaks are cooked to perfection and the staff very friendly. Amazing cross-section of clientele, all ages and backgrounds. Quite an achievement these days to create a local neighbourhood pub on a new-build estate.

The Giants Rest, Wilmington

The food and welcome here are both above average. Yes, they pack a lot of tables in, but it`s well worth it. Food prices are slightly higher than average but the quality is very good and above all the staff make you feel important, and that they value your custom. I`d definitely recommend this to anyone.
