The Half Moon, Windlesham

It's a shame about the old negative reviews for this pub. I have visited a few times in the last couple of months and have noticed a real turn around in the food quality. There was an extensive selection of daily specials including a dedicated 'fish specials menu'. I was told that the chef had changed in recent months and for us the food certainly matched the feel of the rather upmarket restaurant.

There is a large selection of wines, but I tend to stick to the ales of which there are usually around 8 or so on offer. Including Theakston's Old Peculier, Sharp's Doom Bar, Hogs Back, Timothy Taylor's and others that I forget. Certain barstaff seem very enthusiastic about the beers and of late they have all been in top condition. Whether the landlord drinks beer or not I'm not sure but the new bar and cellar manager certainly seems to...!!

This pub is very busy, especially on Sundays when there is only a 2 and a half hour burst of food for lunch so get in early!
