This place is absolutely dire. If you like spending your hard-earned on poncey euro-beers made from an organic silk-worms vomit get yourself down there. The staff are generally ambivalent to what is going on around them and the way the kitchen gets everything to taste incredibly dry is a testament to the microwaves they cook in. You're better off walking a bit further east towards Great Titchfield Street if 'trendy and independent' bars are your thing.

The Allsop Arms, Marylebone

If you can find a more soulless pub in London you are a better person than me. During football matches it is full of trustafarian students talking loud nonsense repeated from Football Focus and The Guardian whilst drinking bog-standard lagers served by eastern europes most miserable ex-pats. But despite what Ruby says, it's not the weight of their wallets that worries the locals about going to The Allsop, because we all have servants to carry them for us. I'll score it three just because it is so close to my flat.

The Hobgoblin, Marylebone

Despite having dirty glasses, dusty beertaps and a carpet that Steptoe and Son would wince at, this is a great local even if the landlord looks like an overgrown student. Highly recommended.
