Bit of a dodgy location, I felt like I was walking out the wrong end of the town, but once inside it's easy to get caught up in the friendly atmosphere and good music. Pool tables started off some friendly rivalry with some other punters. Bar staff approachable and obviously enjoy the rock scene, and the late opening (or should I say late closing) really allowed us to let our hair down.

A bit bland, but nothing out of the ordinary for a Wharf establishment. Got the surprise of my life with some astonishingly rude behaviour from one of the bar staff. On ordering three shots, one of them hadn't been filled as much as the others. As I was giving them to three friends standing together, I asked the barman (perfectly politely!) if he wouldn't mind topping the smaller one up so that they were all the same. He showed absolutely no response other than a look of disgust, then tipped half the contents of the larger two out, snapping, "Fine - have it your way." Gobsmacked. Needless to say I refused to pay for them and he threw them away. What a weird place.

The Gun, Coldharbour
The pub has more quality about it than any other pub in the vicinity, and some really interesting history. Drinks and food are fairly expensive, but a visit here is enjoyable if you're leaning towards a more relaxing evening, rather than wild, especially if spent supping a pint on the decking, watching the boats go by. Can be a little tricky to get served quickly but I've never felt any bad atmosphere in the staff or crowd. It doesn't have a high footfall, so it's a good little gem to know about.
