The Landseer, Holloway

I have been using the Landseer for years on and off and agree with some of the reviewers as the place has been hit and miss. They do seem to have got things right recently.
It has had aspirations of being a gastropub and the prices have seemed dear when it was not hitting the mark, but the last few times i have had nothing but great experiences.
�3.10 is a lot for a pint anonymous, but if it means that you can usually get a seat, and you pay a touch for the priveledge so be it. I use a pub because i like the place, ambiance. staff, customers, food, drink quality and for the overall experience. If i wanted cheap beer i would stay home.
I must say that when they recently put a restaurant in the conservatory i did think there goes another one, especially after reading some of the more recent reviews. All food led!! (The food is good and very reasonable too, �17.95 for 3 courses on a Sunday). However the Landseer does stand out as looking after the pub and not just the gastro. I especially like the guest ale, dispensed from the bar. They have a list of available beers and are taking requests from customers. Please put Adnams broadside on?!?
