St Edmunds Tavern, Bury St Edmunds

I recently went into this pub after hearing about the refurbishment and was very impressed.
I spoke to the staff (who were very polite) and they told me the pub is now run by a couple who lease the premises.

From what I understand Leaseholders and tenants pay high prices for their beer
unlike Weatherspoons who have massive buying power and get their beer at next to nothing there is no way they can compete. (hence why pubs are going skint!)

It obviously cost a lot of money to do up the pub which is now keeping out the
undesirables - I say well done and good luck!
