Old Swan Inn, Llantwit Major

I'm seldom moved to post comments on site like this but this has to be the worst food experience I have ever encountered at any pub...anywhere! Have to admit that the pub itself has plenty of charm, being the oldest in Llantwit Major ,but after deciding to eat there with my partner and our two children we came away feeling as if we had been ripped off with poor quality overpriced food that would have been better placed in a 'greasy spoon' cafe somewhere off the motorway. Too much to gripe about in a review likie this but in essence we paid �4.50 for a ham and cheese baguette...not even a full sze one at that but one of those half size rolls you usually get with soup, we also had two susage and mash kids meals at �5.25 each where the cook (note I didn't use the word 'Chef') decided to mash new potatos and serve them with 'Bullit hard' peas...gravy might have helped disguise the taste of the cheap 'cereal' susages they had used but that would have been a bit too much to hope for! My partner had fish and chips (�9.00's worth!) the fish was burned on the outside and still liquid batter on the inside...the whole experience was apalling. Needless to say, the pub will be a lot older than its name suggests before we venture near its doors again.
