Bar Bodega, Watford

Love this place - one of the only bars in Watford where chavs are outnumbered (yay).

Slightly more expensive than other places, but there is actually a decent wine list and great choice of beers / spirits. Food is decent, and the service is relaxed, friendly and always professional.

They've managed to hit on the head the kinda laid back coolness and style that many bars in central London crave for! Keep it up.

The Amber Rooms, Watford

This could be a really nice pub, but suffers from being too try hard when it's not busy. Really should put it's customers first, especially if it's to justify the prices it charges.

Examples (over various visits);
- cranking up music so loud on Sunday night conversation was impossible, and skipping through CD tracks, cutting the songs off halfway through etc... irritating as hell
- having to wait 5 minutes at the bar whilst the barman finished chatting to his mate (there was no-one in front of me)
- running out of basic drinks on a Saturday night
- musicians making sarky comments if you pop outside for a cigarette

The bar itself looks great though, and heard the food is good! Also, had a couple of good weekend nights in here when it was busy and good DJ's / bands on.
