stan dupInn believe me, there's nothing more important to us than the team - without them there would be no brewery, no pubs etc and if there is a 'brand' it's nothing without a bunch of passionate people in the team and loyal followers that share your ethos - ours remains brewing beer we like to drink. I'm stating the obvious here, but I guess we're all feeling it right now. Maybe we're better brewers then pub owners, maybe we're not hard nosed enough for that game, but we'll keep working hard on our other pubs and you never know what's around the corner. If the Stand Up taught us one thing it's that the pub is at the every heart of a community, part of its very fabric and to see it go is a great shame to say the least. Not sure what you've heard as to who'll be replacing us, but I hope they'll breathe new life into the place - Sunday night was truly something special. If anyone else has any questions, heard anything other then the news that we were given notice to leave within seven days, I'm happy to chat directly. Stan dupinn I have to correct you. The lease had been under negotiation for some time then, out of the blue, notice was served (6 days) everyone to a man and woman at Dark Star was, and remains devastated by this. There's no hard feelings on the decision not to grant us the lease, but the short notice period put Lou and Jo and their team in an awful position. I'd take time to ask them how the brewery looked after them - you may be surprised. For the record, The Stand Up was part of our family and we're gutted. But now isn't a time to look for blame and pick apart the detail in lease agreements. Notice was served on us and we have to support the team best we can - that I can promise we are doing all we can. I don't wish to get into an exchange, simply present the facts. We hope you get the pub the village and regulars deserve.
