Well what can i say. This pub has jumped leaps and bounds in the last three years since it became part of Gusto inns. There is a good range of drinks to be had at reasonable prices for the type od bar it is. The food offer has just changed and now boasts a 'Kids Eat Free' Option, the quality of the food is very good and it has gone back to traditional pub grub food with the scope for specials. Overall the pub offers a good range of activities all week long. From free pool on a monday and karaoke on a thursday to Jeff's quiz and bingo on a sunday evening. The great HOME COOKED, Yes thats right not out of a freezer or in a microwave Home Cooked Sunday lunches are great value for money and well worth a visit to taste them. And dont forget to pop in a try one of Pete's home made curries on a wednesday evening too you can get this and a free pint for just a fiver. I dont know wether the guys who have commented before have actually spent much time in this pub but i feel like it is my second home and the locals are nice and friendly, very little trouble and a great place to bring the family.

Please if you have not tried this pub before or have had the unfortunate experience of reading the obviously snobbish review from ChrisP87 from 2009, make the time to give it a visit soon.
The place has just undergone a massive refurbishment of all aspects of the business. New look inside and out which now puts the pub in the same class as the likes of the Chilworth Arms and the Cleveland Bay for decor and ambiance. A brand new menu which includes a host of mouthwatering homecooked dishes, a new wine list that actually has wines you will recognise on it. The staff have all been on what seems like an attitude readjustment course as they are all lovely and smiling all the time now as it is a pleasure to walk in there. The place has basically been given a new lease of life and is very worth a visit even if it is for one of the great Handpulled real ales or a bit of banter with the staff.
