The Stand Up Inn, Lindfield

Visited here on a Saturday afternoon, pub 'well, I say pub. I don't actually know what it is and I don't think the landlord does either'.
Some kids running about and jumping up and down, lots of Jemima's and Jeremy's with buggies, ordering the whole menu = a long wait for a beer from the one barmaid. Lots of shitty old 'memorabilia' on the wall - meant to look vintage but ends up looking pretentious like a brighton pub. Went over the road after one pint, I'm not a tourist so we left. Not impressed by thai food in an english pub - WTF is that all about?

The Crown, Turners Hill

A nice pub on the first two visits, but slowly became aware of cliquey atmosphere, confirmed when landlord was unwelcoming to my partner and the locals whispered at the end of the bar with the barstaff when I walked past. If you want somewhere to snuggle on a sofa with your nearest and dearest, this isn't the pub to go to. Shame, as it sells nice food and good beer. They've just lost two customers.
