Gatehouse, Norwich

I have been in this pub a few times and agreed with most of the comments listed, especially the quirky landlord, thinking him a bit strange for a landlord, but harmless. Last night a visit to the pub changed all that. We had a couple of pints and I ordered another round and when the landlord had finished I asked him how much. He mumbled something behind his moustache and I asked him politely again How much is it?, he spat back vehemently I TOLD YOU £7.28, I was astonished at his rudeness and when I had recovered I apologised that I hadn`t heard him the first time. He then moaned that he had to repeat everything he said to me, I explained that I was a little hard of hearing and he complained "How was I supposed to know you were deaf. I was very annoyed at being spoken to like that and told him how rude he was, to which he replied, If you don`t like it don`t come in. I then said that I wasn`t suprised that there was never anyone in the pub and he told me it was none of my business. It will be a cold day in hell before I return to that pub, I would much rather walk the extra half mile or so to another one. That man does not deserve to have any customers and I will certainly tell anyone that listens what, he is like. I look forward to the day he buggers off and we get a decent landlord. Its a shame because it is a lovely old pub and the gardens could be fantastic. I live in hope!
