The Weld Arms, East Lulworth

Very awful experience will not be returning and would definitely NOT recommend this pub to anyone. We had booked a table in advance and when we arrived we were given menus and shown to our table. We placed our order at the bar within 10 minutes. Our party of four adults and a child ordered starters and main courses. After 40 minutes no starters had arrived so we enquired and were told they would be with us in 10 minutes time. A couple on the table behind also enquired and were also told 10 minutes they had only ordered soup and mussels. After waiting another 20 minutes for their starters the couple said they had had enough and left. After five minutes the couples starters were placed on their table none of the staff even noticed they had left and new customers were being told food was taking 20 minutes. We waited another 30 minutes so an hour and 10 minutes in total for even a starter to be served and decided enough was enough. We told the landlord we were leaving and why he showed no empathy and lacked any customer service skills. To be honest he seemed totally out of his depth and didn't know how to handle the whole situation. If he has just been honest and said what the hold up was and maybe offered some nibbles or free drinks whilst we waited that might of helped. As we left we noticed other tables some with children had decided to leave some angry they were screeching out of the car park in their cars. This is not acceptable service in this day and age and especially when the parties had children who had been patiently waiting. Do not visit unless you are prepared for a long wait!!!!!
