Finnegans Wake, Edinburgh

How can you get it so wrong? I really missed the old Finnegan�s Wake after the fire closed it. Now it has re-opened as another overpriced plastic pub with absolutely no character. The only thing Irish about the newly revamped FW is the grumpy manageress from the north who can't wait to throw people out for merely enjoying themselves. It's lost any personality it had in the past. There are 2 massive tables in the middle of the floor with very uncomfortable benches to sit on. If you happen to use them you are either facing the band or have your back to them. Apart from that there is hardly any seating. Bands are too loud & the only act to play any Irish songs was the solo guy with backing & he was so quiet you could hardly hear him. Irish my arse! I suppose it might appeal to the tourists & stag parties but it�s really disappointing if you ever experienced the old pub.
