as one of our locals, and been in there a lot of times, one of the 'better' pimlico pubs, we had agreed to go there for nye2013 and celebrate altogether (small group of us). I had my hopes up clearly, as the result was a total disappointment! there is so much potential with this place, even a 'dance' floor downstairs for private functions..one thinks, given one of the busiest nights of the year, they have a fancy dress theme for the 31st, a dancefloor downstairs and a large plasma tv upstairs. what are the chances they might get a dj to spin a few tracks , have a late license and possibly have some music on in the main bar and stream the BBC fireworks live, at midnight, and at least we'd have some indication of the countdown. Oh no, none of that..apart from possibly a late license. Just seemed like a dodgy locals night in, a rushed 10second countdown from someone's watch, everyone too p1ssed to care, bar staff all mashed anyway, it was a mess. when i asked if they could turn the tv on, i get a rude 'naahh mate!' why couldn't they have got into the spirit a bit more? it's only for 1 night of 365 days. At least i thought we'd get a little boogie on, a few drinks...
needless to say i'm crossing them off my list. with all the tourists passing by, they just don't care - used to be a half decent place i hear? it was never one of my favourite pubs at all, but now i'm done with this place.
