Before the Colliers Tup became the Colliers Tup, it was The Victory, and as the new landlord points out, The Victory was a grim place. Colliers Wood still has several alternative grim pubs, so it's refreshing that we finally have something a little different. Maybe it's not to everyone's taste. If that's the case, it's really not rocket science: don't drink there. Drink elsewhere.

There are several pubs to choose from in Colliers Wood now, such as Venus, Rehab, Baobab, GJ's, The Sultan and the William Morris to name but few. All of these venues offer something slightly different. It's not as if the Colliers Tup is the only pub in the area.

So for anyone moaning about the Tup's ale, clientele, food, prices, staff, bonfire etc etc, why not go and drink in one of the alternatives above? Or even better: drink at home where you can moan away to you heart's content without annoying those who simply want to enjoy themselves.
