Marneys Village Inn, Weston Green

Setting for this pub is fantastic, no doubt, and evidently the food is not terrible - but this is something you will not discover if you are vegetarian - or if you are conscientious and one of your guests/companions is.

The first pub I have seen in over ten years with not even one token vegetarian item on its menu.Not one! When asked about this, an elderly member staff was immensely rude.

I ended up leaving the pub in search of food elsewhere, some of our party remained and ate. When they left, the same gentleman ( landlord?) muttered "thank god they're getting him out of here" in relation to an 8 month old in the party (who had evidently hardly made his presence known during the visit).

While the setting is desirable, there are far more welcoming pubs in the area, that are able to keep their prejudices and petty hatreds to themselves and get on with the job of providing good food and beer. I'd avoid this place if you can.
