The London Hotel, Llandudno
Hi All Regarding the comment posted below. I was there when this incident took place so let me tell you the truth.
A so called gentle man made a very rude comment about the music which was playing in the pub (he referes to it as a restaurant but I think the london is more of a pub) He said the music was too old, schmaltzy (whatever that means) and he thought the management were trying to make a Frankie & Bennys atmosphere in an english restaurant (pub) further he said that there shouldn't be any American music playing in an such an english venue .
The young lady in her defence merely explained that the 50' and 60's music playing proves to be very popular with the age group who use the pub at that time of day and quite often people ask for a copy of the CD's playing at that time.
The gentleman strongly disagreed (I can't repeat what he said)
Then the pleasant young girl simply pointed out that he had the freedom to choose whether or not to use this pub when he entered through the door, and that if he was not happy with the atmosphere and the music playing he could have made his decision at the begining of his visit by leaving and finding somewhere else where he would feel more comfortable.
The girl made no mention towards the sexuality of anyone in the pub.
The gentleman then became quite nasty and insulting towards the bar person, who calmly took it in her stride and suggested that in view of his verbal insults that he should leave.
In my opinion the gentleman was trying to pick an arguement with a 20 year old girl (one wonders why) (meaw) and no matter how she tryed to please him he was not going to accept it.
The London is a very busy venue and has proved to be very popular in the locality, Ive been going there for 20+ years and never seen it as good as it is now.
I feel quite sorry for the girl in question, but I guess you can't please em all.
Had I been in charge I would have changed the music in question from Elvis's Lonesome tonight to YMCA by the village people just to try and appease him and his husband.
