The Fox Revived, Horley

Fox Revived needs Revival - decided to book our 12th wedding anniversay meal on a Saturday evening. If 'attentive service' is one end of the scale the service this night was at the other end! Shown to table at 7:50pm and left the table (having had just started and main course) at 10:20pm. To say the service was slow is an understatement. The blurb states food is 'freshly cooked' but my wife does not eat butter and this seemed to be a major stumbling block for the staff. waited 30+ minutes for starter, 30+ minutes for main and the same again to pay the bill. Had to ask 3 times for bread (any bread) and twice for wine list and water...we're not a picky couple and put up with a lot but this was just pathetic. Food quality was reasonable but service has put us off for life. I wouldn't bother even trying the Jolly Farrmers (sister pub) at Buckland. Save your hard-eanred income and try Dukes Head at Copthorne for honest food and service or Half Moon at Warninglid for great pub grub and ale and excellent service day-in, day-out (same price as Fox Revived by the way!!!).,
