The Salisbury Arms, Cambridge

Just had a refurb. The walls are dazzlingly white, the lighting more so. Gone is the bike hanging from the celiing, as are the old beer festival posters, replaced by prints of 'old Cambridge' and the like that can be got from any tourist tat shop in town. The genuine organic heritage of the place has been ditched in favour of fakery. And the beer selection, dominated by Wells Youngs restricted offerings, is as uninspiring as ever. Majorly disappointing.

The Argyll Arms, Oxford Circus

Very impressive interior, the beer I had was in good condition, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Shame I only had time to stay for one pint.

The Brown Lion, Birmingham

Disappointed to find that it's no longer Two Towers. Beers available not exciting enough to warrant opening the wallet, went elsewhere.
