The Crown Inn, Church Enstone

Over priced pub grub, I am glad I was on a diet, otherwise I would have been looking for the local fish and chip shop, I was worried dick turpin would be waiting for me outside, because my wallet was emptied very quickly in The Crown. The landlady was rude, and was obviously spending more time with the well to do village crowd, who my i add were loud, foul mouthed and abusive.

The Restaurant was cramped, no space to move, the wait was longer than anticipated, and the quality of the food was reasonable. The size of the meals were a joke. We used to visit the other pub in Enstone where the whole experience was more casual & the atmosphere was jolly, the Crown is missing that atmosphere. Not a nice place to visit.

The Harrow Inn, Enstone

We started visiting The Harrow in 2007, and found the service great, the food, tasty and good value, and the staff very helpful and friendly. We always stopped off on our way through Enstone and became semi regulars, enjoying a good pint of real ale, good food, atmosphere, and a good laugh with the licensee and regulars. We were sad to see on one of our trips through that the pub was closed.

We then saw that the pub had re-opened on a visit through Enstone in September, we stopped off and what a difference. The food was warm.. the decor had been changed, there was no atmosphere, the staff were not rude but unwelcoming, my wife did not enjoy her meal so we paid and left. I think back to the visits we had the great service that we used to look forward to receiving but all that has gone. We wont be stopping there again. We made our way up to The Crown in Church ENstone........
