I live in York, brought up in Essex. I'm a fan of real ale, and travel masses for work. My current projects (beer related... I am a family man otherwise) are to complete the Monopoly pub crawl of London, and visit every pub in whichever Good Beer Guide is current.

I've been here several times over the last 2 years on crawls and whilst it's supposed to be a gay bar I really haven't seen it myself. Am I blind or is it just a normal pub? It looks normal to me and is only �1.40-ish a pint (March 2007) so who can complain?

This pub should be part of the 'campaign for real toilets'. It's one of maybe 3 pubs in York where gents have to go outside to go to the gents.
Sadly tied to W&D these days, not as much variety as in oldentimes, but at least they have lost the John Smiths bitter.

The Old Windmill, Coventry
excellent beer. When I was there last month it had a weirdy alky woman sat there drinking wine to her heart's content. Seems to attract all sorts, but the beer was excellent. I'll be back.
