The Anchor Inn, Salterforth

We wer on a canal holiday and on Saturday 24th Sept 2011 we moored near the Anchor Inn at about 7.30pm. We were hungry and saw that the pub was advertising food, outside & with a blackboard inside. we bought drinks. When we asked if food was available; the landlord/barman smugly replied " we finished at 6" I looked at my wife and said "is he joking?", again I asked, and by this time he was nearly laughing at us. The answer was no. We drunk up and left. I have already reported this to the canal boat owner who recommended the Anchor. We have never been subjected to such indifference and blatent rudeness, he didn't even apologise or advise us wher we could get a meal.
