The Three Crutches, Strood

We visited this pub for a birthday lunch and should have realised we'd make the wrong decision when, on ordering the drinks we were told that they had no white wine!! Then we orders a drink of milk for our 5 year old and was told they had no milk.
We ordered our meal and the waited over 45 mins for it to arrive, bearing in mind that we were the only people eating in there by now. The gammon steak was extremely salty, the steak and kidney pies were all kidney and no steal, with over half the pie being made up of gravy. The vegetables were cold. The salads were full of grit where they hadn't been washed properly. At no time during the meal did anyone ask if things were okay, or even if we wanted another drink.
We did not want to make too much fuss as this was supposed to be a special lunch, but we did eventually complain to the assistant manageress, and frankly she just was not interested. One of the comments was that the meals were only two for �10 so what more did we expect!
This is our 3rd trip to this pub, and it will certainly be our last. Beware of the pub with no wine!!!
