The Cat's Back, Wandsworth

It's open, hooray! Yes now owned by Harveys of Lewes which is very exciting. Decorated in typical Harveys decor. The beer is good, very well kept. Good selection of Harveys beers on tap - Best, Olympia, Knots of May, Armada from memory. They also have a good selection of Harveys bottled beers. No food as yet, apparently the kitchen is still being re-done and should be ready in the next few weeks and any way eating is cheating when you have good ale. The atmosphere is a little still but comfortable, and may pick up when food is on the go.

The Jolly Sportsman, East Chiltington

Nice venue, more of a gastropub/dining room. The beer was good, well kept. Went there on Jubilee monday which was a mistake. They were either too busy or understaffed or both. We had 2 courses, food was nice and actually reasonable portions but we waited an age for the food to arrive and the staff were not attentive at all. We had to ask for everything even to place our food order. When we mentioned the service was slow and not very good the response back was "well there's not much we can do about that!" Hmm not rushing back there.
