The Royal Oak Inn, Meavy

This is a great little pub in a great setting and even better allows dogs in the bar. They serve the a good range of ciders and ales not the normal draughts avaliable in most pubs.
I think the food is the weakest point, its ok but in my opinion over priced when compared to other pubs which are within a few miles, also the menu does not seem to change very often. Steaks are of a high quality but the battered fish is not great. The batter is to heavy which detracts any flavour or taste from the fish which was very disappointing when costs are considered.
In short, great venue, great ales and ciders but could do better food wise.
