The Plough, Clapham Junction

I absolutely love the newly opened Plough. So close to Clapham Junction and yet far enough to discourage the riff-raffington-Stella-drinking crowds.

Myself and two friends went on Saturday lunchtime around 1:30 and the place was pretty full with families, groups of friends, couples and the odd person just chilling out reading the dailies. Overall the vibe was relaxed and whilst still attracting some RAH-types, not pretentious in the slightest.

Meantime Ale is fantastic. That, happily, is just one of the many hand-picked tipples on offer. We got served straight away and ushered to a table in the mixer with views of the open kitchen and the myriad of Clapham life passing the huge floor-to-ceiling windows.

Now the food was equally exceptional. Black pudding scotch egg - oh my lord - and the burgers? Huge. Also took down some Parrot wings, which are not to be taken lightly, they have a spice that will kick your ass if youre not prepared.
On balance, the prices are not expensive for what you get. There are plenty of pubs out there charging the same/more for food of a lesser standard.

Will definately be back and good work on bringing the Plough back to life.

Shame to see some negative reviews.. But I guess haters gonna hate.
