you haven't got much choice on the prices, i see what you mean. my mate's brother has a pub with punch and he's on the point of leaving the trade. he told me about his rent and also said that 25 years ago, he was being charged 7% of the turnover. the breweries and pub co's seem to be trying to kill the trade themselves without the help of the smoking ban and recession, madness. anyway i'll be in when i'm next in town, as long as you haven't taken foghorn's advice that is. all the best

hey Taffy,
visited your pub a coupla times recently. i really like the place, very homely but the eye popping price for beer!! i drink in central london on occasion and I can drink for cheaper there without even knowing the best places to go, what's goin on? it's a small market town, not covent garden. have fullers really got you hog tied? i've heard that the rents being charged are what's closing pubs these days, any truth in that? i'll still pop in when i'm in the area, but just have the one.....or two.....etc
