The Elgin, Ladbroke Grove

Just a word of warning for anybody heading to The Elgin for food.
A group of 15 of us visited on Saturday for a pre-Christmas meal... only to find the menu was completely different to the one on their website that looked very appetising.
Instead of the likes of Crisp Cornish squid garlic mayonnaise, West Devon chump of lamb and 28 day dry aged cutlet of beef we were presented with a hugely unimaginative list of food.
No starters whatsoever, one salad, a fish pie, then just Fish and chips, burger and chips, chicken kiev and chips... and just in case that wasn't bad enough the only two side dishes listed were skinny chips and thick chips!!
Service was then less than impressive, with half the dishes delivered about 30mins after the first ones appeared.
The food was OK, but overall it was a disappointment.
