The Dove Inn, Micheldever Station

Beautiful pub lunch - �12 for two courses on the specials menu. I had a smoked haddock fishcake starter and cous cous with grilled haloumi main that were both gorgeous. My firend had fish and chips which was fab. We sat outside in the garden in the sunshine and it was lovely. Service was quick and with a smile. Would definitely recommend it.

The White House, Clapham Common

Beautiful decor, a smoking balcony (which is a massive bonus these days, although it shuts at 11pm), but VERY expensive. Drinks are �7 a cocktail, BOGOF before 9pm. My friend reserved an area, for which he had to pre-order �100 of food. The buffet style finger food was duly served at 8.30. 5 plates of decent chinese style snacks, but probably worth �50 rather than �100, we thought it was just a starter and asked when the rest would be delivered! Turned out there was no need to reserve anyway, as the place was empty until 9 / 9.30 anyway (this was a Friday night...) Music was good to start, got better, then got terrible.

Nothing special, wouldn't recommend it.

The White Lion, Hampton in Arden

Went for Sunday Lunch yesterday. 4 adults and 2 children, food was excellent, service was excellent. They provided entertainment for the children, and half sized portions for them. They had a large group in, but we were still served in good time for both drinks and food. Nice, clean, light and airy restaurant. Good decor throughout. I would highly recommend it.
