The Boot Inn, Sutton Coldfield

Once a 'proper' pub with a well attended bar offering the regulars a very happy atmosphere. Now it has been changed into one of the pubs I call a 'plastic pub' - no atmosphere and the regulars mostly left to go to either Anvil (following the publican) or to the hospital Social Club (now demolished to make way for a car park!). I was one who left to seek pastures new.

The Anvil Inn, Sutton Coldfield

When the pub was taken over by the former publican at the Boot, the pub became a haven for friends to have a nice drink in pleasant surroundings. Local chavs etc were banned. But, now with new management, the pub is slipping backwards and 'entertains' loud horrible Kareoke, the local 'hoods' are allowed back in and the regulars are diminishing fast. I was in there last night and only knew a few people.
