Royal Oak, Bovingdon

I stumbled across this gem of a country pub whilst visiting some friends, and was really impressed!
The staff including the really friendly and approachable owners made my group feel welcome, depsite being from out of the area - the menu was made up of freshly prepared items, and from speaking with the staff, it was evident that they really tried to source everything as locally as possible. I had a huge crumble made with apples & plums from Botley(?) which I was assured was just around the corner from the pub.
The long fire was light, well recieved as the weather outside had really turned, and the atmosphere in the evening was lovely.
If you're local and haven't been, why not!?! I'm debating whether to buy a house in the area after my visit :)
Well, well worth a visit - 9 out of 10
