The Red Lion in Histon is one of the best pubs around the northern fringe of Cambridge - well worth a trip out from the city. A great variety of extremely well kept real ale is always available. Regular beers include Elgood's "Black Dog", and there's usually stuff from Oakham as well - "Bishop's Farewell" being frequently available.
Food is not generally available in the evening, although there are frequent special curry nights etc. where the food is usually very good.

The Cock Inn, Hemingford Grey
Fantastic pub and restaurant. The beer is of the absolute highest quality, and always very reasonably priced. A recently introduced policy means that real ales are stocked only from brewers within 1 hour drive from the pub. Currently, the policy is to have two regular beers, and rotate two other guests. The regulars are currently Earl Soham "Victoria Bitter", and Buntingford "Highwayman IPA" (chosen at a recent pub beer festival by a poll of the locals). Guests often feature from Milton, Nethergate and Potbelly. Easily the best beer pub for miles around.
