The Camel, Bethnal Green

This pub is an oasis in a desert for Bethnal Green. Really nice chilled out atmosphere, good drinks selection with well kept beer and friendly staff. The pub is a bit of a strange shape - long and narrow and it can be akin to walking down a tube carriage on a busy night. There's also no light in the gents (apart from the light coming in from outside) and I always thought this was some idea of alternative trendy ambience until I realised they probably just hadn't replaced the bulb yet! I really like the decor here as well - some thought has been put into it. Although it looks modern it does have the feel of a traditional pub.

My only problem with it is they don't have a late licence so it's the old pub closing time of 11pm.

Oh and apparently some weekends they have on a yodelling banjo player, which is pretty original...
