The Pullman Inn, Widmerpool
Our family visited the Pullman for Sunday lunch today. Oh dear, Oh dear, how things have changed!!
Truly awfull experience. We had booked an early table for midday for two adults and three yougsters. We didn't have to book, the place was empty, strange I thought this place was busy the last time we ate here about a year ago.
Things started off badly. I sent a pint of beer back because it tasted of cider and soap! Havn't done this in over 10 years. Then we was told that there are no menus because all they serve is the carvery. Fine I thought, a nice carvery is always welcome. Wrong.....there idea of a carvery was reheated roast potatoes which were grey in the middle and not cooked through. Frozen balls of stuffing. Yorshire puddings which were soggy and cold. Gravy which was a dark brown syrup with no taste. Carrots which had seen better days.
The worst part was when my 3 year old son asked me "whats this Daddy" He had cut into a roast potato which was black and rotten.
Everyone stopped eating at this point.
I could go on but I think you get the idea. I paid the bill in full which was 39.00 and we left quickly.........never to return again.
You have been warned.
