There's not a lot to criticise about this place: good dcor, friendly staff, helplful doormen, reasonably priced selection of decent beers.
If anything, it is a bit anonymous and detached in this place - my other favourite East Dulwich haunt is far more personable, but that's just a quibble. The later opening hours make up for it.
Food is not bad - though my one caveat is that I bought fish and chips, but the chips were charged separately! Come on guys!

The Bishop is a good solid pub with good opening hours and friendly door staff.
The bar staff are in the main friendly and helpful and, if like me you're a guiness drinker, you will often get your drink brought to your table when it's ready.
Speaking of tables it can be a pain if you don't get one - weekend afternoons especailly the place is full of yummy mummy family types, which can be a pain.
Food-wise, it is very good, though I was dismayed when I ordered fish and chips that it wasn't one complete dish. I was charged separately for the chips. Come on guys!

I agree with the comment below. The place has an identity crisis: is it a pub or is it a restaurant? IMO, they should concentrate on the food at the back and have the front part of the pub just for drinks or bar snacks. It can feel uneasy sometimes in here as the drinking-only tables are situated in the middle of a room surrounded by people eating. Cannot fault the quality though.
