The White Horse, Hertford

Took a group of 12 for lunch on Saturday a couple of weeks ago - it was fantastic! Reading these reviews now, I realise I was quite lucky, and perhaps it won't last, so visit while it's still around.

Even though the chef hadn't turned up, the landlord managed to put on an amazing spread of tapas, with solid vegetarian options. The beers were great - a good range (maybe around 10?) and all seemed well-kept. I don't think they had anything particularly dark - an all too common disappointment - but I might be misremembering. The best thing: leaving so full we couldn't bear to eat more, and 1-2 drinks per person, cost around £10 per head. Certainly can't get that value where I'm from... Great building, too.

So my advice: if Paul's still the landlord, it's worth a visit.
