The Moat House, Taunton

I have to disagree with the last comment, I used to love the Moat House but stopped going after the previous owners stopped the live music and everyone serving seemed really glum. Me and my girlfriend have been in for the last two weekends and its really upbeat, clean, the staff are smiling and friendly and the dance floor is full, with people dancing on both floors. The new owner is really nice too, she makes an effort to talk to all her customers rather than glare at them, yes it's all a bit girly, even the gents smells nice! But you feel really welcome. Far from playing CD's on a loop, theres a DJ there on both friday and Saturdays. Thankfully they are no longer playing dance music so loud you can't hear yourself think, instead they put on the sort of thing that gets everyone both sides of the bar dancing. We had a great time and look forward to heading back again tonight, it's an adult venue definately not a grungy bar anymore. Havent tried the food yet, but look forward to it.
