The Sultan, South Wimbledon

I can only add to the praise for this fine ale-led pub. The �1.75 pint happy hour (7-9pm I think) on Wednesdays is worth travelling for. The Hopback ales are always very well kept and poured. I ordered a polypin of Summer Lightning for a BBQ last year and was very pleased with that too. The pub has a dartboard and the staff and locals are friendly. I remember having a great game of darts with some members of the ladies team a couple of years back. In short this is a great place for a quiet relaxing pint. There�s no piped music to disturb conversation. Have heard good things about their summer BBQs and mini beer festivals too.
Probably takes about 10 mins to walk from Colliers Wood tube but fairly easy to find.

The Market Porter, Borough

As per the reviews below I agree that this is a great pub. Certainly one of the best in the area. A good range of ales on offer including a mild and also Weston�s hand-pulled cider. It has a nice interior, although could do with some more seating at the back where it appears to have recently been extended. Didn�t try the food this time but it has a reputation for quality and good value meals. A must visit pub if you�re in the area.

The Southwark Tavern, London Bridge

I like this place. It�s old features have been largely retained whilst the bar area has been sympathetically modernised. On m last visit they served an excellent pint of guest ale Caledonian Full Monty. The staff were very helpful. After asking the strength of the beer the barmaid went to find out then came and found me with the answer. Good potato wedges and olives too. My only complaint is with regards to the un-necessary DJ. No-one seemed bothered that he was there and although he was spinning some good tunes does a pub really need a DJ on a Thursday night?
