The Freemasons Arms, Hampstead

Worst pub experience I can remember. We sat down in the back garden with a drink whilst deciding what to eat. When we went to the bar to order grub we discovered no food could be ordered in the garden - in which case it might be helpful to have some signs there stating that. The only outdoor space in which you can apparently order food is the front terrace and of course that was as a result full. Whilst learning about this 'policy' I heard a bar girl telling another customer who had been perfectly polite when ordering food but wasn't sure what her table number was, 'Well I'm not going to wait here to find out'. Eventually (foolishy) we decided to eat inside. Pleasant waitress at least, but we had to go and find her to order food. Meanwhile we spilt a drink at our table so in the absence of any visible staff in the restaurant I went to the bar to ask for some tissues. I asked a barman who was standing about 2 feet across the bar from me and was looking me straight in the eye. He promptly wondered off without a word and that was that. Food arrived later and was truly awful. I give this place 1 point as the garden looks nice. Do yourself a big favour and find somewhere else to eat and drink
