The Bridge Inn, Lynton

This pub has moved on from the old days having been taken over approx a year ago by Gary and his family and they have big plans for the 'Ye Olde Cottage Inn' which is the new/original name of 'The Bridge'. Although still next to a very good campsite and a number of hotels, the pub is a hotel in its own right. Serving Exmoor Ales. Usually Gold, (my personal favourite) Ale and Stag but from time to time has other local ales on tap and of course Cider and Lagers. They also have a very good selection of bottled beers available. The Cottage is in the process of becoming a micro brewery in its own right brewing 'Fat Belly' ales. They have a lunch time menu which is traditional, they also do Sunday lunches and occasionally place bowls of roast potatos on the bar. In the evening they do Thai food from 18:30 but not on a Sunday/Monday. All the food is excellent having sampled for myself both the Sunday roast and Thai food many times. They are closed on a Monday outside of the holiday season. The restaurant overlooks the West Lyn river and the sound of the river adds to the general ambience of the place.

Blue Bell, Glinton

Good village friendly pub. Only go in there when i'm visiting the village but the food is always good even if they do open a bit late (12:00) but as I said it is a village bub. The landlord/landlady and staff are friendly enough. Wednesday is curry night and on Friday they are open all day.
