The Flask, Highgate

A lovely pub with lots of character, but sadly the worst food I have eaten at a pub in at least a year. Avoid the Sunday roast like the plague! Lamb so tough, chewy and dry it was like eating cardboard, broccoli grey and slushy, Yorkshire pud underdone and doughy, mint sauce so fierce it brought a tear to my eye. When we complained to the server that it was inedible, he apologized and said he would check with the manager if they could do anything. When he came back he told us she had offered two free coffees as an apology. Two coffees, on a hot summer day, which we didn't want, as an apology for a �10 Sunday roast which we hadn't touched? I think not. I won't be returning for the food in this lifetime and I will need a pretty good reason to return for a drink. Shame, it really is a lovely pub in a great location.
